Introduction to Hand Therapy has been attended by over 6,000 therapists since its inception over 20 years ago! It has been recognized as a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of caring for all hand injuries. This course is designed to provide P.T’s., O.T’s, ATC’s and assistants with in-depth information on evaluating and treating patients with injuries to the hand. The emphasis is on topics which are clinically applicable for patient care. Lecture portions cover the following topics: functional anatomy; comprehensive hand evaluation; exercises for strength and range of motion; modalities; wound and scar care; splinting principles; and protocols for treatment of common hand pathologies.

Patricia has taught live continuing education seminars on various hand therapy topics since 1992 . After several years of focusing on clinical practice, Patricia has returned to her role as a professional ed ucator since 2014 . We provide continuing education classes on hand therapy that are comprehensive, relevant , and immediately applicable in the clinical setting. Clinical Specialty Education strives to provide hand therapy seminars that reflect therapy techniques and treatment approaches based on current research and evidence based practice. Our hand therapy education is conducted with a spirit of sharing in an enviornment which is inviting, pleasant, and conducive to learning. All of our hand therapy classes are designed to expand the knowledge and clinical competency of physical and occupational therapists who treat patients with injuries or diseases affecting the hand and upper extremity.
