This 2 day course emphasizes key considerations applicable to the physical and occupational therapist in effectively managing patients with chronic cardiopulmonary diseases along the spectrum of care from acute hospitalization to rehabilitation, home health and outpatient care.
Disease processes for patients with heart failure, chronic obstructive and restrictive lung diseases will be presented with specific reference to its etiology, pathology, and current medical management. In addition, the course accentuates current evidence on the interacting concepts of stability, decompensation and readmissions in patients with chronic diseases.
